LANAP (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure) is the newest innovation in treating gum disease, allowing for the targeted removal of diseased periodontal tissue without removing any surrounding healthy tissue. After the laser is used to remove the infection, the dentist then makes a second pass to eliminate any remaining bacteria which then jumpstarts the regeneration process.<\/p>\n

The use of LANAP boosts the growth of healthy replacement tissue, since it relies on True Regeneration<\/a> \u2013 not resection \u2013 to restore oral health. Since the process is minimally invasive, the body can heal from the chronic infection faster than it can post-surgery.<\/p>\n
